RuralZED has been received its code 6 certification for the
'One Earth Homes' at Upton, Northampton. These homes are the first
commercially built homes to receive certification.
The recent government publication ‘World Class Cities’ (May
2009), cites Upton in Northampton as one of the few case studies built
recently in the UK that exemplifies the principles of sustainable urban
extensions.

Grande Synthe, Dunkerque, France
As part of building its future
eco-neighborhood (400 homes at very high energy performance), the town
of Grande-Synthe inaugurated in November 2008, a RuralZED at the
entrance to the city
This accommodation serves as an exhibition pavilion showcasing the future eco-district of the
city and will promote sustainable and responsible lifestyles.
The town of Grande-Synthe is a pioneer in
sustainable building in France. This project is a continuation of their
active policy of zero carbon development.
